Helicopters are available in Timika and fly to the Yellow Valley base camp at 4,300 m (below the Carstensz Wall).

Our advice: It’s best to maintain physical fitness and have experience climbing above 4,000 m above sea level.
The helicopter used is a B-3 with a cargo capacity of 350 kg (including passengers and luggage), with a maximum capacity of three passengers. The helicopter flight from Timika to the Yellow Valley base camp, located at 4,300 m above sea level, takes only 40 minutes.
